Protect Your Magic Hours
We all have them. A few hours each day when we feel more focused, energized, creative, and grounded than at any other time.
At LBL we call these your Magic Hours.
They are the hours when your brain and body naturally perform at its best. They are driven by your circadian rhythm—your internal clock that influences everything from alertness and focus to physical performance.
The mistake most people make is treating every hour the same. They are not. Your Magic Hours are your most valuable hours. Use them wisely.
If your energy peaks in the morning, use that for your focus time—strength training, writing, deep thinking, or your most important work. Don't spend your best hours answering email, running errands, grocery shopping, or crossing easy tasks off a list. Those can wait.
If your brain comes alive later in the day, protect that time instead.
When you stop organizing your day around your calendar and start organizing it around your energy, everything changes.
Three things to think about:
Notice when you naturally feel your sharpest, strongest, and most focused.
Protect those Magic Hours by reserving them for your highest-value focused work time, your workout, or the activities that matter most.
Move lower-energy tasks—email, errands, meetings, and chores—to the hours when your energy naturally dips.
Your calendar tells you where to be. Your biology should help decide when you do your most important work.
