Take Your Practice With You
Summer Is an Advantage. Use It.
One theme came up again and again in conversations with clients last week: transition.
Kids coming home. Summer travel. Visitors arriving. Weekends away. Time at summer homes. Shifting schedules and changing routines.
There's a lot of to-ing and fro-ing this time of year.
Instead of trying to maintain a perfect routine, carry your wellness practice with you.
At key choice points throughout the day, use Pause–Notice–Choice—our framework for creating a small space between what is happening and how you respond. Rather than operating on autopilot, it helps you become more intentional, make values-based decisions, and stay connected to the life you're trying to build.
Pause.
Take a breath and create a moment of awareness.
Notice.
Pay attention to what you're feeling, needing, or experiencing.
Choice.
Take the next step that best supports your health, energy, and well-being.
Let the Six Pillars guide you:
Visit the farmers market and enjoy seasonal foods.
Move your body outdoors whenever possible.
Get morning sunlight to support your natural circadian rhythm.
Spend time near water, in the woods, on the beach, or around a fire pit.
Connect with family, friends, and community.
Use moments of transition to slow down and become more intentional.
Most importantly, be kind to yourself.
There will be wonderful days and messy days.
The goal is to remain connected to your practice so that wherever summer takes you, you can continue making small choices that help you live better, longer.
